Counselors

Attention counselors! Here's some key information you'll need to assist your students when they apply to Flagler.

Counselor FAQs

Students are welcome to complete the First Year application or international application found on our website. We're also a member of the Common Application. We do not have a preference. We hope students will complete the application that suits them best.

Common application

  • As part of the online application, students will be asked to select the admission plan of their choosing.
  • We don't offer Early Action.
  • All admission decisions are sent to the student's mailing address via USPS, and a notification letter addressed to you will also be mailed to your school a few days later.

  • We evaluate students on an individual and holistic basis. The following academic profile represents the mean of admitted students from last year.
  • Please note: although these numbers are a good range to aim for, they do not represent minimum requirements or cut-off points for admission.
  • Also, please keep in mind this grade point average (GPA) is a weighted, core GPA. We don't include electives in our calculations.

  • If students can't submit scores electronically due to financial constraints, we may be able to accept test scores using an alternate method.

For domestic applicants, please keep in mind that our Office of Admissions requires your student's final, official high school transcript with a printed date of graduation.

We would greatly appreciate an email or a phone call from the student to let us know that they've made plans elsewhere. That way, we can deactivate their Flagler record.

  • Early Decision students must submit their enrollment deposit and electronic enrollment forms no later than Jan. 15.
  • Regular Decision students must submit their deposit payment and enrollment forms no later than May 1.

We'll email enrollment forms to students and parents a few days after we send acceptance letters in the mail. If we receive forms without accompanying payment, the student is not considered Deposited (and vice versa).

Students seeking advanced credit are responsible for submitting all official college transcripts, CLEP, IB, AICE, or AP score reports. They'll need to confirm their advanced standing level before they register for classes.

Visit the Course Catalog to learn how AP, IB, Cambridge, and Dual Enrollment credits are applied at Flagler.

Notes on dual enrollment

  • High school applicants taking dual enrollment courses should apply as First Year students.
  • We typically grant transfer credits for courses with a grade of "C" (2.0 on a 4.0 scale) or higher from regionally accredited institutions. Quality points from transfer credits don't factor into a student's Flagler College grade point average.
  • Students who meet the Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree requirements can transfer up to three courses with a "D" grade as long as the total transfer credits don't exceed 64 semester hours. The College's Registrar determines the allowed transfer credit and advanced standing, occasionally consulting the department chair before granting transfer credits.
  • As a member of the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida (ICUF), we provide certain guarantees to transfer students with an A.A. degree from any member of the State of Florida public university system.
  • This guarantee includes transferring 60 credits toward the baccalaureate degree and fulfilling general education requirements (per the ICUF Articulation Agreement).
