Flagler College is excited to welcome Broadway star and two-time Tony Award nominee, Laura Osnes, as the second act in this year’s two-night Cabaret spectacular.

With the theme of “Let Your Light Shine,” two separate Cabaret performances will take the stage in Lewis Auditorium at 8 p.m. on Jan. 26 & 27. In the theatre community, Cabaret is a genre of performance art that can incorporate song, dance, acting, and comedy with a defining characteristic of its intimate nature where the audience can feel in touch with the performer.

The Jan. 26 Cabaret production will feature Flagler’s Key of Seas student ensemble, and the Jan. 27 show will be a solo Cabaret production with musical star, Laura Osnes. While their Cabaret shows are otherwise independent, a highlight of both nights will be the debut of Osnes’ original song which faculty member Keith Teepen arranged for her to perform alongside the Key of Seas student ensemble.

Osnes rose to stardom after winning NBC’s reality TV competition “Grease: You’re The One That I Want,” earning her the role of Sandy in the Broadway revival of Grease at the age of 21. Since then, she’s scored two Tony Award nominations (Best Actress in a Musical) for her starring roles in "Bonnie & Clyde" and "Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella."

Flagler’s Music Program Director, Kip Taisey, spent the fall semester with his students to create acts surrounding the theme of resilience for this year’s Cabaret production. Each night’s performance will include approximately 15 songs performed over the course of an hour with faculty member Keith Teepen accompanying on piano.

As an immersive Cabaret experience, guests will be seated at roundtables and be served food and drinks throughout the evening by students of Flagler’s Hospitality & Tourism Management Program. A 7 p.m. social will be held prior to each show.

All funds raised from this event go toward arts programming and student scholarships within the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Flagler College. Tickets for the Key of Seas Cabaret performance on Jan. 26 are $100 each and tickets for Osnes’ Solo Cabaret on Jan. 27 are $150 each. Tickets for both nights are $225 per person.

Seating will be limited to ensure an intimate and authentic Cabaret experience, and it’s anticipated that both performances will quickly sell out. So, if you’re eager to experience this immersive theatrical event, secure your tickets through the official Cabaret ticket link while seats still last!
