Flagler College Giving Challenge to benefit students

March 23, 2021
Flagler College will launch its annual Roar and Raise Giving Challenge fundraiser on April 7 and 8 to benefit scholarships, academic programs, athletic teams, student organizations and other programs outlined in the College’s strategic plan. The goal this year is Flagler’s most ambitious yet– 1,200 donors in just 2 days to unlock a $25,000 challenge grant.

“We are excited for the Roar and Raise Giving Challenge for Flagler College coming up,” said event organizer and Assistant Director of Annual Giving Sierra Aitken. “We have had an overwhelming response so far from sponsors and donors willing to set up giving challenges to motivate and encourage others to give back.  This challenge is all about participation from the Flagler College and local community in support of students and programs during this challenging time.  We hope this support will provide the scholarship and program assistance that our students need to achieve their educational pursuits.”

Flagler College’s last Roar and Raise giving challenge took place in March 2020, just one day before the pandemic outbreak. The 2-day challenge was cut short, yet broke records by raising $129,043. This year the College hopes to see more success knowing that the need is greater than ever.

The goals of the challenge are to increase engagement among the Flagler College community, provide funding needs to our students that tuition, room & board and fees don't cover, celebrate the relationships that are fostered because of Flagler College, and increase the percentage of the community participating in philanthropy with the College.
