Describe your central passion(s) and how you hope to carry that into your post-grad plans:

I have a passion for communicating a brand’s vision and mission to their target audiences through social media and digital marketing. Small business owners or anyone who needs marketing assistance – it's really fulfilling to be able to take what they are passionate about and translate it into what I am passionate about.

What (or who) helped inspire your passion in this area (or areas)?

Oddly enough, my internship supervisor, who knew nothing about social media. While serving as the Social Media Manager for Campus Recreation, Alicia Ramsdell had the most impact on me because of how passionate she was about her job. I took her passion and was able to translate that through the Instagram account – which gained over 400 followers while I oversaw it.

Briefly tell us the story of one stand-out memory from your time at Flagler that will always make you smile:

I would say my favorite memories are any late nights spent studying with my friends in the library. Cramming is so much more fun when you can get some laughs out of it.

What academic resources, experiences, or mentors proved most valuable throughout your Flagler experience?

The Career Development Center! I cannot stress that enough. It can be scary to think of the future and to have to start planning for what to do when your college experience ends. You kind of have to be vulnerable and put yourself out there – the CDC is such a huge help for anyone (like me) who struggles to look ahead and put myself in situations that I normally wouldn’t. I don’t think I would have gotten a job so quickly, post-grad, without their help.

What is one piece of advice or lesson you learned about the college experience that you wish you could tell your freshman year self?

Get involved sooner! I didn’t truly get involved until my second semester, but I wish I had started sooner. As a resident shy-guy, it helped me come out of my shell and meet new people. Now, I have met my lifelong friends that will probably be at my wedding – if I choose to have one.

Tell us about what you’re up to next! Any cool experiences, professional positions, or unique opportunities you have lined up after graduation?

After completing my degree in the fall of 2022, I have already launched myself into the professional world. In January, I started as a Social Media Specialist at a Digital Marketing Agency in my hometown. Then, in March, I was promoted to Assistant Team Leader. I hope to keep growing and glowing in my leadership at this agency until I decide what my next move will be. And some advice for my COM brethren out there, get some agency experience!
