What Makes the Program Low Residency?

You will start with a one-credit orientation on the beautiful and historic Flagler College campus. You will also be on campus to finish and present your capstone project at the end of the program. In between, you will attend class online.

Can I Take Longer Than a Year To Finish?

Students usually take four fixed classes per term (fall, summer, and spring) to graduate in one year. Students who need more flexibility may take two or three courses per semester. To graduate, you finish 37 credit hours in total, including the one-credit orientation. You must get a B or above in all attempted coursework.

When Is Orientation?

Faculty and staff conduct orientations the weekends before the spring and fall semesters begin. Only incoming students attend orientation.

Where do You Attend Classes?

You take classes online on your schedule (asynchronously) or during specific times, depending on the class.

How Much Will It Cost?

You pay for the program by the credit hour. The cost is estimated to be $625 per credit. There is also a nonrefundable deposit.

How Can I Pay for the Program?

The program is eligible for federal student financial aid once approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.* Visit the federal government's financial aid website to learn more about the financial aid available for graduate students.

Some employers may also offer tuition reimbursement, so consider checking with your organization.

What's a Cohort, and How Can It Help Me?

The program is built on a cohort model. A cohort is a group of students that begins and completes classes in the same timeframe. Cohorts of like-minded students help support you and make it more likely that you will finish the program on time.

Cohorts can also become a powerful career tool. They help you build personal and professional connections. Those connections develop your network and further your career and goals.

What Can I Do with a MPA?

An MPA is a top credential in the public and nonprofit sectors. It opens up a broad range of opportunities. It can help you be a successful government, public service, and nonprofit leader.

What Do You Need to Apply?

Prospective students must have a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. The minimum GPA you'll need to apply is 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Students from all fields are welcome.

You'll also need to submit a letter of intent, two letters of recommendation, a graduate application, and your curriculum vitae (CV). Your CV should list your professional experience.
