Tuition and Aid

Many of our students qualify for financial assistance. Sources of assistance include the Pell Grant, Stafford Loans, the Florida Minority Teacher Scholarship, Florida Prepaid, the Florida Bright Futures Program, and the Effective Access to Student Education (EASE) grant.

EASE Grant

The Effective Access to Student Education (EASE) Grant is awarded to Florida residents enrolled full-time and those who have not earned a four-year degree.

For the 2023 - 2024 academic year, students receive $3,500, which divides between Fall and Spring ($1,750 in Fall and $1,750 in Spring)

FAFSA

Students are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA Flagler school code is 007893. Students can complete the FAFSA application here.

Loans

Loans are a common form of financial aid and can help bridge the gap that gift aid doesn't cover. The U.S. Department of Education's federal student loan program is the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program. Under this program, the U.S. Department of Education is your lender. 

Federal District Subsidized and Unsubsidized Student Loans

Subsidized and unsubsidized loans are federal student loans for eligible students to help cover the cost of higher education at a four-year college or university, community college, trade, career, or technical school. The U.S. Department of Education offers eligible students at participating schools Direct Subsidized Loans and Unsubsidized Direct Loans. 

The Direct Loan Program allows students to borrow without having a co-signer or prior credit history. To receive a student loan, the student must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and list Flagler's Federal School Code (007893) on the form. The student must also complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Counseling. For more information, visit https://studentaid.gov/. 

Federal Parent Plus Loan

Parents may borrow the total amount of the student's cost of attendance (minus any other aid received) through the Federal Parent Plus Loan program. If a parent is denied a PLUS Loan, the student can borrow additional Federal Direct Unsubsidized Student Loan funds above the usual annual limit. Grade level determines how much additional loan funds a student may apply for in this instance. Students with junior or senior status can borrow up to an additional $5,000 per year. Parents can complete the Federal Parent PLUS Loan Application online.

Scholarships and Discounts

In addition to federal and state financial aid programs, Flagler College Tallahassee currently offers the following:

• Tuition discounts for full-time employees of area K-12 schools
• Tuition discounts for full-time employees of Tallahassee Community College and their dependents
• Graduates of the Tallahassee Community College New Start Scholarship program
• Graduates of the Fostering Achievement Program (current or former foster care participants)
• Travis Joseph Miller Scholarship
• Tuition discounts for law enforcement and public safety officers employed in area counties and their dependents

Veteran Benefits

Flagler College Tallahassee is an approved recipient of VA funding. Some armed service veterans and their dependents may be eligible to receive benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
