Charlene Banta
Professional Profile
Professor Banta received a dual master’s degree in Information Technology Leadership and Health Information Management from the College of St. Scholastica. She also earned a B.S. in Leadership Studies from Lee University. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Transformational Leadership from Concordia University. Before joining Flagler College, Professor Banta taught at Indiana Tech, Missouri Western State University and the University of Phoenix. She also serves on the Information Technology staff at Mayo Clinic. Professor Banta holds the ITIL Foundation certificate in IT Service Management, is a Certified Healthcare Technology Specialist – Implementation Manager, and credentialed as a Registered Health Information Administrator. Her primary interests include IT Service Management, Change Management, and the Information Technology Infrastructure Library as it applies to health IT. Professor Banta’s work to improve healthcare using technology has been presented at the International Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare Convention in Paris, France.
