Professional Profile

An alumnus of Flagler College, Dr. Williams taught in the deaf department at the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind before returning to his alma mater as a faculty member, where he has taught a variety of Education courses and coordinates the English Education Program. During this time, he has published three books, multiple articles, and presented at professional conferences. In addition, he has received a Schultz Grant, the Kappa Delta Pi Professor of the Year Award, the Student Government Association Faculty Member of the Year Award twice, and the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Professional Development.

More Information

He is a member of the Association of College Educators for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, the Convention of American Instructors of the Deaf, the Council for Exceptional Children, the International Literacy Association, and the National Council of Teachers of English. Locally, he sits on the advisory board of the St. Johns County Academy of Future Teachers and, for over ten years, has served as a mentor for Investing in Kids’ Take Stock in Children Program, helping young men set goals to improve their college and career outcomes.
