Proposed Title IX Regulations

Flagler College is committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming educational and working environment for everyone — an environment in which sex or gender discrimination is not tolerated. The Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) issued proposed regulations on June 23, 2022 mandating how Flagler and all other colleges and universities must investigate and adjudicate sexual misconduct cases under Title IX, a federal statute that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex or gender in any federally funded education program or activity. Flagler College is dedicated to complying with all requirements of Title IX regulations and all updates to the regulation as they are released by OCR.

When we receive a report of sexual violence or gender-based harassment, there is a policy and procedure in place to make sure every step is clear and transparent for all parties.  It is our policy to take appropriate action to prevent incidents of sexual misconduct and to provide prompt and equitable methods of investigation and resolution to stop discrimination, address its effects, and prevent its recurrence.

Violations of this policy may result in suspension, dismissal, expulsion, or termination.
