The personalized, face-to-face interaction in and out of the classroom is what defines the transformative learning experience at Flagler College. This past year we had to make adjustments to that experience to maintain a healthy and safe campus. With the availability of the vaccine, we are able to plan a fall semester that returns the campus to pre-pandemic operations.
While more details are being finalized and will be released soon, we wanted to share several important details about our fall semester plans.
Campus and Classroom Experience
While much of the planning is still underway, we are looking forward to engaging in the campus activities, programs, and interactions with each other that we have missed over the last 15 months.
In the fall, you can anticipate classroom spaces and residence halls to return to normal capacity, amenities such as the pool and the fitness center to be open, and activities such as volleyball and intramurals to be available for social interaction.
There will be no mask requirement in place, but it is recommended that non-vaccinated individuals wear a mask indoors.
For the best fall experience, we are encouraging anyone who can be vaccinated to do so before returning to campus in August. Those who are vaccinated can voluntarily upload their vaccine card to the Student Health Portal to receive a free meal at the Bistro, POD, or Dining Hall and be entered into a drawing for a $300 textbook credit at the College Book Store and other giveaways.
Flagler College fosters a respectful and inclusive community, one where we respect and appreciate all individuals. To this end, it is the expectation that everyone will do their part to protect the health and well-being of the community, as well as respect and honor the decisions of others. By continuing to do this, Flagler College will be able in the fall to return to the vibrant campus that all students, faculty, and staff knew before the start of the pandemic.
