Learning Resource Center

Students should use Chrome, Firefox, or the Edge browsers AND a computer to make appointments because our scheduling and tracking system, TutorTrac, does not function well with Internet Explorer, Safari, or mobile devices. If you are having difficulty making an appointment, please contact learning@flagler.edu, call us at 904.826.8548, or visit the LRC on the first floor of the Proctor Library.

HELP WHEN YOU NEED IT

The LRC is a tutoring center by Flagler students, for Flagler students. Highly-trained peer tutors are available for appointment-based, one-on-one and small group tutoring and are supervised by Lab Coordinators who are experts in their diverse fields. The LRC exists to support students in their coursework, providing dedicated academic assistance and a convenient place to study.

Appointments can be made through the button above and are encouraged, though walk-ins are also welcome. By making an appointment, you ensure that a tutor will be available to you at the scheduled time. We’re excited to be a part of your academic journey! Come see us soon and often!

The Academic Success Lab helps you develop effective test-taking, content reading, time management, speaking, studying, and listening strategies. Help with critical thinking skills and memorization techniques is also available.

English for Academic Purposes Center

The English for Academic Purposes Support Center, coordinated by Professor Lauren Tivey, offers peer and faculty tutoring to support multilingual learners’ English literacy skills. The full spectrum of language skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking, and thinking), will be addressed, with an emphasis on written communication.

  • The conventions of academic English
  • The rhetorical and organizational features of college-level expository writing
  • The accepted documentation and attribution standards used in North America

The Math Lab, coordinated by Professor Rich Smatt, offers peer tutoring for all Flagler math courses including algebra, geometry, statistics, and business calculus. GRE and LSAT prep, and Course Compass and calculator setup are also available.

Writing Center

The Writing Center, directed by Professor Deborah Teague (Dteague@flagler.edu) provides an opportunity for you to work one-on-one with either a peer tutor or a member of the English Department faculty. You’re encouraged to bring any type of writing assignment for help with all parts of the writing process from brainstorming to final editing.
