Udall Scholarship

Overview

The Udall Foundation awards scholarships to current undergraduates for leadership, public service, and commitment to issues related to American Indian nations or to the environment.

  • Areas of focus are:
    • Tribal policy
    • Native health care policy
    • Environmental issues

Award

  • The Foundation expects to award 50 scholarships of up to $5,000 and 50 honorable mentions
  • Must be a current sophomore or junior to apply.

Requirements

  • Current undergraduate with sophomore or junior standing.
  • Commitment to working in an area of focus defined by the Udall Foundation.

Qualifications for a competitive application

  • Demonstrated commitment to working with Native Americans or Native Alaskans.
  • For Tribal policy and Native health policy, you or your parents/grandparents must be enrolled in a federally recognized tribe.
    • Environmental issue scholarships do not require being a member of a tribe.  
  • Interest in conservation, environmental stewardship, or environmental policy
  • Leadership Potential.
  • Strong Academic record.
