Flagler College Beyond the Diploma Program

What is the Flagler College Beyond the Diploma Program (BTD)?

The program is a local grant-funded project with the primary objective of making every effort to increase the number of participating low-income, educationally disadvantaged students who, upon high school graduation, reach their academic and/or career goals including, but not limited to, completing post-secondary education, obtaining a specific certification, or pursuing a military career.


Students in grades 6-12 who attend a Title 1 school in St. John’s County.

Students must meet a minimum of one criterion under both guidelines. All guidelines refer to the year immediately prior to the student’s initial year of participation in BTD.

  • First-generation college student
Academic Guidelines
  • Grade point average below 2.5
  • Suspended/Expelled
  • Absent more than 20 times in a year
  • Low math/reading scores
