Dear Saints Community

It is with a great deal of excitement that I welcome our new and returning students to Flagler College!

We have spent the last few months working hard to bring our students back for face-to-face instruction on our campus, keep them safe, and provide the college experience they deserve.

The Fall is, of course, going to look a lot different for all of us due to a number of COVID-19 mitigation strategies we’ve put in place on campus. But we’re committed to ensuring that the Flagler experience includes everything that makes a Flagler education special: a personalized, transformative education; an engaging and inclusive campus with a vibrant student life; and a welcome into the Flagler campus and the beautiful city of St Augustine. Everything we do, from the way we teach to the way we listen, revolves around our commitment to the belief that students come first.

I firmly believe that Flagler’s size and close-knit campus community allows us to manage this crisis more flexibly and carefully than some other institutions. We’ll continue to be guided throughout by the values that define us. One of those Core Values is stewardship, which means an abiding and active care for each other — the health and well-being of everyone will be our top priority.

We all share a responsibility to preserve the health and well-being of everyone on campus, and in the local community, so we are calling on our Faculty, staff, and students to sign a pledge calling on them to protect each other, the campus, and the St. Augustine community. We will do this by wearing a face mask, practicing social distancing, following good hygiene and sanitization practices, monitoring personal health, following required health reporting protocols, and avoiding large off-campus gatherings. I invite you to learn more about the College’s reopening plans at

I look forward to seeing our students on campus, and I hope that both students and community members alike will join me in embracing our core value of stewardship for our neighbors as we work together to maintain the health, vibrancy, and charm of our city.
