Community Workshop- St. Augustine: Community Resilience and Cultural Resources 

This workshop will solicit input from public officials, business leaders, community members, and property owners from the greater St. Augustine area on strategies for adapting our National Historic Landmark city to future rising seas. 

  • 8:00 a.m. - noon- Public Officials and Business Leaders 
  • 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m- Community Members and Stakeholders

Cultural Resilience and Contemporary America: Impressions from the Past that Inform the Present and Inspire the Future

As part of the Ideas & Images lecture series, scholars will explore climate justice, sea level rise, and policy changes. 

Time: 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. 

Location: Lewis Auditorium 

Workshop and evening presentations are free and open to the public.

2019 Conference: May 5-8, 2019 

Keeping History Above Water: St. Augustine will explore the impacts of sea level rise on historic coastal and river communities and cultural resources through the lens of time. With the theme of Envision 2050, an emphasis is placed on policies, programs, and projects that address the situation in the short-term (defined as 30 years).
