Moderated by Shawana Brooks (writer, curator, and founder of 6ft Away Gallery and Color Jax Blue) and Rory Thompson (President, Flagler BSA), we invite you to a panel discussion in conjunction with our current exhibition “The Nameless Now,” include exhibiting Jacksonville-area artists Christopher Clark, Erin Kendrick, Dustin Harewood, Princess Simpson Rashid, and Roosevelt Watson III. This event will be live-streamed on Zoom and Facebook Live for those in the community who would like to attend.
Painting Workshop with Erin Kendrick

Please join us for a painting workshop with Jacksonville artist Erin Kendrick, co-hosted with Flagler’s BSA. This workshop is open to all Flagler College students, provided as both a limited in-person and virtual event, and materials will be provided!
Erin Kendrick is an international artist and arts educator from Jacksonville, Florida. Her color rich, acrylic ink-stained works of art and transformative installations seek to inspire a dialogue about contemporary spectatorship and the power of language as it relates to perceptions of and about black women. She has exhibited work in museums, galleries and alternative spaces throughout the United States and abroad. After receiving her formal art training at Florida State University (BFA, Studio Art, 1999) and Georgia State University (MFA, Drawing & Painting, 2003), she worked for many years as a Studio Artist and Arts Educator in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Nameless Now Open House with DJ Geexella
Co-Hosted with Flagler’s BSA

Please join us for an Open House for First Friday Art Walk! We are excited to co-host this event with Flagler's BSA, and to have Jacksonville's Geexella spinning tunes on the front lawn!
Geexella is most recognized as a singer, rapper, DJ and community organizer. Their passion for music served as the catalyst to create and organize DuvalFolx - the only intentional dance party/space for marginalized communities in North East Florida. They are recognized by many organizations as a leader and fighter for civil rights.

Moderated by Dr. Chris Balaschak, Associate Professor of Art History, the panelists will include exhibiting artists, Jason Schwab, Assistant Professor of Art at Flagler College, along with Malcolm Jackson, Cheryl McCain, Sean Kelly Conway, and Lenny Foster.
