Director of the International Center, Lisa Fiala earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Miami University of Ohio and a master’s degree in international sustainable development from the School for International Training in Vermont. Director Fiala came to Flagler with more than 17 years international working experience. She held the position of Director of International Programs and Outreach at the Northwest School in Seattle, and was previously the Regional Director for Southeast Europe with American Councils for International Education where she managed 7 countries offices and worked closely with local US Embassies on education programming. She has consulted for and completed assignments with a number of other NGOs and IO's including The Global Fund for Children, UNCTAD and UNICEF and has worked in 22 countries around the world on programs focused on youth and education. Fiala served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Bulgaria ('01-'03) and Ghana ('03-'04) and has lived in Switzerland, Tajikistan and Serbia as well.
The Director of the International Center is responsible for the College’s international programming including, study abroad, international student services and international partnerships.
