Known among his friends as a master musician, Dan is an active teacher, concert pianist, choral director and accompanist, composer, and clinician. For 16 years, Dan taught various courses in music to music majors and minors at Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He has also worked in church music, serving as Director of Music, Organist, and Pianist for several churches in Tennessee, Florida, and South Carolina.
An advocate for handbells and handchimes, Dan has directed several handbell choirs and served a term as Florida Chair of Handbell Musicians of America. He is past president and currently on the council of the Florida United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts.
Dan earned the BA degree at Tennessee Temple University, and the MA at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He loves to teach music, play piano for banquets and other special occasions, and write music. At Flagler College, Dan served as accompanist of the Flagler Singers for three years, and has been teaching Music Appreciation since January 2013.
