    Flagler College students Felicitas Runkel and Nathan Ward have been awarded a $2,500 top prize out of over 700 student participants in a national statistics contest hosted by Pearson using StatCrunch software.

    Retired faculty association award annual scholarship to Nick Cuffy

    President Joyner hosted the annual Sociable Association of Satisfied Saints (SASS) luncheon and award ceremony on Thursday, April 19. The retired faculty members of SASS chose Nick Cuffy as this year’s scholarship recipient. The $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a student within any major, with a superior grade point average who also demonstrates financial need.

    Jacksonville clinic partners with Flagler College consumer behavior course

    Flagler College’s Leslie Gordon welcomed Volunteers in Medicine (VIM), a non-profit clinic in downtown Jacksonville, to be this semester’s clients in her consumer behavior course. Gordon’s consumer behavior class is a senior-level marketing course that blends studies of psychology, sociology, anthropology, and communication.

    Ten students from Professor Lauren Tivey’s Introduction to Poetry Writing class, from the Fall semester of 2017, had worked for months crafting, editing, and polishing work to be presented at a formal reading at the end of the semester. Shortly after, Tivey’s colleague, editor David K. Jibson of "Third Wednesday", offered to publish the students as a feature in the upcoming spring 2018 issue.

    Flagler students help with post-Hurricane Irma recovery efforts

    On Sept. 11, the morning after Hurricane Irma struck, Paige Armstrong awoke with a sense of déjà vu. The president of Flagler College Volunteers had just lived a similar day less than a year ago when Hurricane Matthew unleashed its fury on St. Augustine. And now, after evacuating to Orlando, she was faced with returning to her community again to help people get back on their feet.

These students achieved a 4.0 grade point average with at least 12 hours of graded credit during the spring 2017 academic semester.     Flagler College officially welcomed nearly 800 new students to the Flagler family Tuesday evening, during the college’s annual convocation ceremony in Lewis Auditorium. The students clutched railroad spikes, symbolic of their Flagler journey, as they listened to new President Dr. Joseph Joyner share his vision of great leadership and the core values that define the college.

    Flagler College launches new academic year, opens Abare Hall

    Flagler College sophomore student Sanad El-Farhan was awarded a $2,750 UPS Scholarship for the second year in a row by the Florida Independent College Fund and its national partner, the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC). El-Farhan is from St. Augustine and is majoring in Business Administration.

    Gargoyle wins website award in journalism contest

    The Gargoyle, the Flagler College’s student-led online newspaper, won first place for Best Website in the Society of Professional Journalists Florida Chapter’s 2017 Sunshine State Awards. The publication took the top award ahead of University of Miami and Lynn University. This also marks the 100th award for The Gargoyle and its staff, all won in the last decade. The Gargoyle's student editors are Mallory Hopkins, Julie Householder and Katie Garwood.
