Flagler College-Tallahassee students recognized with top honors at state leadership conference
May 16After excelling at the Florida chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America – Phi Beta Lambda, FBLA-PBL, state leadership conference, four students from Flagler College-Tallahassee will travel to San Antonio, Texas. They will compete against more than 1,800 of America’s best and brightest college students at the PBL National Leadership Conference on June 24–July 2. -
Two new trustees tapped for Flagler College Board
May 14Angela Brav, a hospitality industry veteran, and Bradley Brown, corporate treasurer for Ally Financial, Inc. are the newest trustees of the Flagler College Board of Trustees. Their tenures will begin on May 23. -

Flagler wins Best of Show at national advertising competition
Apr 11On March 1, Flagler College, represented by students of Rampant, was announced among the winners of the 34th Annual Educational Advertising Awards. This national competition, sponsored by the Higher Education Marketing Report, recognizes the field of educational marketing and advertising. Schools can submit as many entries as they want within the 33 categories for the chance to win a gold, silver or bronze award in each category. -
11th first place finish for Society for Advancement of Management
Apr 8Society for Advancement of Management (SAM) Flagler College team landed its 11th first place championship at the case national competition in Orlando. The student team was Michelle Claas, Jaydie Allen, Taylor Johnson, Brandon Chaisson and Jason Williams. -

Dec 6Local franchisees from one of the fastest growing fitness gyms in the country, Orangetheory Fitness, partnered with Flagler College Professor Leslie Gordon to offer her Consumer Behavior students internships at the end of the semester. Gordon’s Consumer Behavior class is a senior-level marketing course that blends studies of Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, and Communication. -

Flagler’s Society for Advancement of Management claims top spot in competition
Apr 5Flagler College’s Society for Advancement of Management (SAM) team recently took home first place at the organization’s 2017 Case Competition in Orlando, held from March 30 to April 2 at the annual SAM conference. Janell Collins, Mary-Jo Lendering, Matheus Menezes and Nick Pappas joined more than 100 students from 25 colleges nationwide to compete in the competition, in which students were tasked with analyzing a marketplace problem facing the social media company Facebook. Through their analysis, they examined possible solutions and proposed the most effective one to ensure the company’s sustained, future success. -
Entrepreneurship, networking highlights of college’s ‘Business Week’
Feb 27Thirteen students experienced first-hand the intense scrutiny of pitching a business idea last Thursday when they competed in Flagler College’s “Lion’s Cage,” an event based on the popular TV show “Shark Tank.” Four business leaders served as the judges. Senior Jose Mizrahi, who pitched the idea of an “Uber for tutoring” app called Brighter Future, emerged victorious, claiming the top $1,000 prize.
