      Local franchisees from one of the fastest growing fitness gyms in the country, Orangetheory Fitness, partnered with Flagler College Professor Leslie Gordon to offer her Consumer Behavior students internships at the end of the semester. Gordon’s Consumer Behavior class is a senior-level marketing course that blends studies of Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, and Communication.

      The Jacksonville-based historic arts and music venue Florida Theatre is considering ways to improve its operations, thanks to presentations by 41 Flagler College students in Instructor Leslie Gordon’s Consumer Behavior course.

      Flagler’s Society for Advancement of Management claims top spot in competition

      Flagler College’s Society for Advancement of Management (SAM) team recently took home first place at the organization’s 2017 Case Competition in Orlando, held from March 30 to April 2 at the annual SAM conference. Janell Collins, Mary-Jo Lendering, Matheus Menezes and Nick Pappas joined more than 100 students from 25 colleges nationwide to compete in the competition, in which students were tasked with analyzing a marketplace problem facing the social media company Facebook. Through their analysis, they examined possible solutions and proposed the most effective one to ensure the company’s sustained, future success.

      Entrepreneurship, networking highlights of college’s ‘Business Week’

      Thirteen students experienced first-hand the intense scrutiny of pitching a business idea last Thursday when they competed in Flagler College’s “Lion’s Cage,” an event based on the popular TV show “Shark Tank.” Four business leaders served as the judges. Senior Jose Mizrahi, who pitched the idea of an “Uber for tutoring” app called Brighter Future, emerged victorious, claiming the top $1,000 prize.
