Flagler Staff Spotlight: Donn Garby
Oct 5Donn Garby, assistant director of housing operations, joined the Student Affairs department in the fall of 2021. Garby is a Class of 2016 Flagler alumnus who served as SGA President during his time here. He was also the Assistant Program Director for the Campus Activities Board, Founder of the U.S. Military Veterans Club on campus, and an ambassador in the Office of Admissions among numerous other extracurricular positions held. Following his time at Flagler, Garby earned his master's degree in higher education/ higher education administration at Old Dominion University. Garby then earned his Doctor of Philosophy in higher education/ higher education administration from Rowan University. -

She was touring isolated rental properties with a dwindling phone signal when she looked out onto a river in the middle of rural Kentucky, standing alone on a cliff. As she stood there, she had a thought, anything could happen out here, and no one would know. That little, random thought led her to write her latest novel, Where Secrets Lie. -

Jun 22Managing disasters is not what Linda Stoughton envisioned she’d be doing 30 years ago. She had studied forestry, and wanted to pursue that field wholeheartedly. But in 1985, she took a job with St. Johns County as a fire rescue dispatcher, and before she knew it, had progressed to the role of emergency management director. -

Flagler’s Giving Day exceeds goal for raising money to honor President Abare and benefit students
May 10Flagler College’s third annual Giving Day saw 233 donors (191 of those alumni) raise $67,844 at the college by the close of the day on May 9 — $19,900 more than last year’s Giving Day.
