Student Receives CIC/UPS Scholarship

Aug 30, 2018

Flagler College junior student Maximillian Guodace, majoring in economics, has been selected to receive a $3,000 CIC/UPS Scholarship provided by the Florida Independent College Fund (FICF) and its national partner, the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC).

Nationally, CIC, through the CIC/UPS Educational Endowment, provided more than $1.6 million in student scholarships to make private colleges and universities more affordable and accessible to underserved students. This year, the FICF awarded $90,000 in CIC/UPS Scholarships to 30 low-income students at private institutions across Florida.

“For 30 students attending a Florida independent college or university, the UPS Scholarship provides valuable financial support,” said Dr. Ed Moore, president of the Independent Colleges & Universities of Florida (ICUF). “ICUF/FICF and Flagler College are proud to partner with CIC and the UPS Foundation to make access easier for students throughout Florida.”

CIC has worked since 1956 to support college and university leadership, advance institutional excellence, and enhance public understanding of private higher education’s contributions to society. The Council is headquartered in Washington, D.C. For more information, visit www.cic.edu.
