Student club raises money for local cancer patients

Flagler College’s Public Relations Student Society of America recently donated $2,300 to the Cancer Patient Emergency Fund, which offers financial assistance to cancer patients undergoing treatment at Flagler Hospital. As part of a fundraiser, participants paid to complete various exercise circuits at CrossFit venue DRiV Fitness in St. Augustine. Flagler students also sold T-shirts and hosted a raffle.
“The spirit of partnership, giving and support in our community is truly exceptional — and Flagler College plays a big part in that,” said Flagler Hospital President and CEO Joe Gordy. “We appreciate the generosity of these students and their commitment to helping cancer patients in need.”
Approximately 20 PRSSA club members helped run the event, which was held last fall.Tagged As
