President’s Golf Classic raises money for athletics scholarships
Nov 9, 2020
The 2020 Flagler College/W.W. Gay Mechanical Contractor President’s Classic Golf Tournament was held Nov. 6 at the World Golf Village’s King & Bear Golf Course. The event raised $74,550, which helps support athletics scholarships.
The four-person team of Ryan Hudgens, Dillon Rogers, Bill Bulthius, and Chuck Clift took first place in the scramble and had their names etched on the Abare Cup. The cup is a trophy that was introduced in 2009 by Flagler’s Board of Trustees as a tribute to William T. Abare, Jr, then-president at Flagler. Second place went to the Thompson Baker Agency, Inc. foursome, while third place went to the Westminster Communities team.
Closest to the pin was Patrick Lamb and Shane Sheltra had the longest drive. Art Eld won the Elite Putters Club putting contest.
Flagler Athletics team members volunteered at the event in various capacities.
Flagler College Athletics thanks all of the sponsors and everyone who participated or took part in this outstanding fundraiser.
