Flagler’s ACE program launches 3 free online courses
Apr 21, 2020
A silver lining to the “Safer at Home” policy is more free time to pursue an interest, hobby or professional development opportunity.
To help individuals get started, the Flagler College Adult and Continuing Education program recently launched three free online, self-paced courses available to the public. These courses are offered in cooperation with ACE program partner, MindEdge Learning.
“We are doing all we can to stay connected with our students and our community at large,” Jorge Herrera, ACE program director said. “These three courses provide an opportunity to try out online learning risk free.”
The first course, Introduction to Critical Thinking, is available now, and two more courses will be released in May and June. The ACE team chose the first course based on its broad appeal and universal application. Critical thinking may be the single-most valuable skill that one can bring to any job, profession or life challenge. It’s an intellectual model for reasoning through issues to reach well-founded conclusions.
Personal Creativity will be released in May, and Creativity in Teams and Organizations follows in June.
All three courses will remain available through Aug. 31. In addition to this complimentary selection, more than 40 other online courses are available. Registration fees range from $20 to $129 per course and professionals with certificates or licenses can earn continuing education units, or CEUs.
