As Flagler College seniors leave behind their undergraduate experience amid an unprecedented time of uncertainty, they go forward into futures unknown. Some seniors have, however, managed to continue on with their plans for a post-graduate world, cultivated prior to COVID-19 turning all the world upside down. We’re happy to share their plans as they carry on with that special Saints spirit!
A business administration and marketing major, Tommaso created SocialBite, an app with business partner Sarah Schark. They wanted to solve the user-friendly interface problem they felt was impeding their user experience when deciding where to eat with friends. He recalls feeling validated in the idea when they submitted it to the Lion’s Cage event during Flagler’s Business Week 2020 and won the grand prize of the business idea competition. They’re planning for a beta test this summer and hope to take the app further following that.
Kristen is outgoing President of Alpha Kappa Delta Sociology Honor Society. She will continue her studies at the University of Florida in their Ph.D. Criminology program. “Knowing your professor truly cares about you and your learning really makes learning at a higher level less daunting and asking questions much easier,” she said of her time at Flagler.
Flagler College Ambassador Luke is headed to the west coast to work for large firm AGEISS. There he will consult with the United States Air Force on various field work projects. He was a Coastal Environmental Science major and will put to good use the skills he learned working with people as an ambassador – his job will heavily lean towards public outreach activities.
