Flagler seniors celebrated, invited to participate in December ceremony

May 7, 2020

While the coronavirus pandemic might have cancelled Flagler College’s Spring 2020 commencement ceremony on May 2, it didn’t stop the college from celebrating its 429 graduates who finished up their senior year through remote learning and online classes.

The college marked the occasion with the playing of the "Pomp and Circumstance" commencement processional from Ponce Hall’s bells, a message from Flagler College President Joseph G. Joyner and other virtual events celebrating the occasion.
In a special video to seniors made with his wife, Susan Joyner, President Joseph G. Joyner, Ed.D., said about this particular class: “It’s not just the resiliency you’ve shown throughout your career, but also the things you’ve accomplished at Flagler College…and I think more importantly you are the class that ushered in our new strategic plan that’s going to take Flagler forward into the future and I want to congratulate you on that.”
In March, the college had to cancel all events for the semester due to the pandemic, including graduation. All Spring 2020 graduates are invited to participate in the December 2020 ceremony to be held on Saturday, December 12 at 9 a.m. at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.
