Flagler College names Carol Branson vice president of Marketing and Communications

Carol Branson, the Senior Director of Communications and Marketing at Hanover College, has been named Flagler College’s new Vice President of Marketing and Communications.

“Carol has a very strong and impressive background as a leader in higher education marketing and communication efforts, and she will make an excellent addition to our leadership, our marketing team and the entire college,” said Flagler President Dr. Joseph G. Joyner.

Branson has extensive marketing and digital media background, which she has employed in her cabinet-level leadership role at Hanover, and previously at Indiana University – Purdue University Columbus. Among her many responsibilities at Hanover are brand management and execution of an integrated marketing and communications plan across campus. One highlight of her tenure in these leadership roles includes her success in using a digital marketing strategy to increase student applications by over 80 percent year-over-year.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Flagler family at this exciting and pivotal time for the College,” Branson said. “I look forward to leading the marketing and communications team and collaborating with talented professionals across campus to share stories about student success, faculty research, and regional and national impact.”

In her new role she will oversee a division responsible for advancing the image and reputation of the college through the development of a strategic communications and marketing program. Marketing and Communications includes the college Web site, social media, media and public relations, community and governmental relations, Flagler College Magazine, Flagler’s Legacy and WFCF.

Branson will take over for Donna DeLorenzo, who announced her retirement earlier this year and left the college in June after 21 years of service to Flagler.
