Flagler College is being featured across the country in travel journalist Burt Wolf’s “Travels and Traditions,” which is airing on PBS affiliates.

The show, titled “St. Augustine,” highlights the impact and legacy of the college in the historic preservation of the nation’s oldest city. Dr. William T. Abare, Jr., Flagler’s former president and the 2014 recipient of a Florida Trust for Historic Preservation award, discusses with Wolf the architectural heritage of the former Hotel Ponce de Leon and the efforts to maintain and preserve its Gilded Age craftsmanship.

The show also features Flagler’s program in Coastal Environmental Studies and its endeavors to protect the Atlantic coastal environment.
