Flagler College -Tallahassee students recognized with top honors at PBL National Leadership Conference in Baltimore

Four students from Flagler College - Tallahassee traveled to Baltimore, MD to compete against more than 1,800 of America’s best and brightest college students at the Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) National Leadership Conference on June 23–26, 2018.

Akeem Bennett, Erin LaPointe, and Mathew Musial, and Micah Geiger competed in seven business-related events and received national recognition at the PBL Awards of Excellence Program on June 26 for the following events:

Akeem Bennett (Accounting Major)
1st Place in Impromptu Speaking
8th Place in Business Communication

Erin LaPointe (Accounting Major)
1st Place in Retail Management
7th Place in Business Communication

Matthew Musial (Business Administration Major)
5th Place in Organizational Behavior & Leadership

“I am extremely proud of the hard work and dedication the FBLA-PBL Flagler College - Tallahassee team has displayed. They are a very talented group of individuals,” said Kim Bianco, the FBLA-PBL Chapter Adviser. “They have represented Flagler College with dignity and I know each and every one of them will become a successful leader in the business community.”
The award was part of a comprehensive national competitive events program sponsored by FBLA-PBL that recognizes and rewards excellence in a broad range of business and career-related areas. For many students, the competitive events are the capstone activity of their academic careers. In addition to competitions, students immersed themselves in interactive workshops, visited an information-packed exhibit hall, and heard from motivational keynotes on a broad range of business topics.
