I am passionate about telling stories of the BIPOC community that are not typically shown in mainstream media through the mediums of motion and audio. What is one lesson that you learned at Flagler that you will never forget?
I learned (and still learning) that I need to give myself more credit for the things I have accomplished. I am my own worst critic.
If you could share a piece of advice for a new student, what would it be?
Create a support system for yourself, there will be times you will need a shoulder to lean on. The transition from high school to college isn't easy per se, you might struggle academically and/or socially, but having people in your corner will make your time worthwhile at Flagler.
Our core values are Transformative Learning, Citizenship with Integrity, Thoughtful Stewardship, and Respectful and Inclusion Community. How have you contributed to these Core Values during your time at Flagler?
During my time at Flagler, I have been involved in the Black Student Union as an executive board member from freshman year through junior year and served on committees to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion on campus to strive for a respectful and inclusive community.
What are your plans after you graduate?
I recently accepted an offer to be an Academic Advisor for the Center for Advising and Core Experience (CACE) here at Flagler College.
