What is your major? Do you have any minors?

My major is Journalism and Digital Media Production with a digital media production focus. I also have two minors: Advertising and Marketing.

What are you passionate about? What inspires you?

I am passionate about people; more specifically, making images of people fascinates me. I specialize in editorial photography and heavily enjoy having people see themselves differently, from the way I see them through my camera’s lens. People inspire me, I love telling stories about people through my work; whether that be filmmaking or photography, I adore it. To have people see themselves in a different light or to be represented adequately is a huge passion of mine and will continue to be post-graduation.

What is one lesson that you learned at Flagler that you will never forget?

Time. Time is your gift, as well as time is a gift to you. We have so much time but also so little time, which Flagler taught me how to use wisely and across the board on things I love and cherish. From participating in clubs on campus to participating in a student-run magazine, I managed my time at Flagler very well and I am incredibly thankful for the time I spent with my professors and peers.

If you could share a piece of advice for a new student, what would it be?

Well to start, like I just stated, manage your time efficiently. Make sure you're not burning out too much or giving too little time to something that deserves more; prioritize what is right for you and run with it. My other piece of advice is to not be afraid to try everything out. College is about finding yourself, which may sound cheesy, but it is very true. Test out everything you can, if you don’t like it at least you tried it & ultimately it will more than likely lead you to exactly where you need to be in the end.

Our core values are Transformative Learning, Citizenship with Integrity, Thoughtful Stewardship, and Respectful and Inclusion Community. How have you contributed to these Core Values during your time at Flagler?

I believe I contributed to these core values during my time at Flagler due to my campus involvement as well as my off-campus involvement. I was treasurer for the College Democrats Club and was involved in intramural sports over the years, I completed two documentarian internships with FCTV and Dr. Warrenburg. I made four films, two of which were feature-length in my classes at Flagler. I started my own production company, G99 Productions, where I pursue freelance videography and photography. And I was the fashion director and photographer for a student-run magazine, Strike Magazine - St. Augustine, for their last three issues. Through these involvements, I have exuded these core values by telling people's stories through production as well as listening and learning to those providing me with those stories.

What are your plans after you graduate?

My plans after I graduate are to move to New York City, NY, and pursue freelance photography full time under the name “G99 Productions”. I plan to work for a magazine or a publication as well! Until then!
