What is your major? Do you have any minors?

My major is English Writing, and I have a minor in Political Science.

What are you passionate about? What inspires you?

Oh, everything! I love the way the small things in life weave together to make the world. Nothing is too insignificant to be appreciated. Mostly, I’m inspired by the little kindnesses of the people around me and the way groups of insects work together, like bees and ants.

What is one lesson that you learned at Flagler that you will never forget?

Taking a genuine interest in other people and reaching out to them is one of the most fulfilling things you can do. I used to be so shy! I know it sounds kind of cliché, but connecting with the people around you is never as difficult and always more rewarding than you can imagine. We really are all in this together.

If you could share a piece of advice for a new student, what would it be?

Explore! Take classes in as many different disciplines as you can, talk to your professors and classmates, and walk around downtown. There’s always so much going on around town and on campus, and you’re sure to find something new to fall in love with.

Our core values are Transformative Learning, Citizenship with Integrity, Thoughtful Stewardship, and Respectful and Inclusion Community. How have you contributed to these Core Values during your time at Flagler?

I have grown so much by participating in different academic disciplines and engaging with my professors and fellow students beyond the set class time. Even just taking the time to work with someone else over coffee or give advice to someone working on a similar project as me has created a sense of community that has helped me learn both in academics and in interpersonal relationships.

What are your plans after you graduate?

I’m looking into working at a law firm to gain some experience and see how I fit into the environment before going to law school. I’m also working towards publication for my poetry chapbook! Eventually, I would love to get an MFA in Poetry, but for now, my focus is getting a foothold in the field of law.
