Enactus summit serves as needed preparation

Mar 20, 2019

Flagler College Enactus students attended the Northeast Regional Summit at Rutgers University in early March.

The summit attendees included: Natalia Fernandez, Cassidy Hartson, Emily Lemp, Brianna Burt, Jordan Duford, Emma Card, Savannah Nagel, Delaney Colbert, Kyle Perrone and Autumn Stanish. Advisors (pictured) are Donna Delorenzo and Barry Sand.

As there wasn't a regional conference and competition this year, student Natalia Fernandez said it was much-welcomed preparation for the national competition in May. In fact, a handful of the Enactus senior team members will be flying in separately from the rest of the group, as nationals take place during Flagler's commencement weekend. The national competition will take place in Kansas City, Mo. this year.

Enactus competitions and conferences are rich in networking experiences as well as serving as spaces for providing critique to the competing teams to ready their national projects.

The Flagler Enactus team will be submitting four projects to nationals this year, including an exciting agricultural endeavor working with local growers on a new purple sweet potato, called the Violet Queen. You can follow their progress on this particular project on their Instagram at @VioletQueenBSF.
