      Remembering Rachel Lloyd, '89

      Rachel Lloyd passed away unexpectedly on July 23, 2014. Rachel lived in Winter Park and worked at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical, where she was loved and recognized as a warm, compassionate and loyal friend. An accounting and mathematics major at Flagler, she was an active member of the Alumni Association and attendee of Flagler College events. Her family has set up an annual scholarship in her name at Flagler College.

      Dr. J. Robin King, former professor of philosophy at Flagler College, passed away Dec. 9, 2010, after a 17-year battle with brain cancer. He was 63.

      Ginger Riggs is a writer, editor, and graphic designer. Riggs studied creative writing under the tutelage of Page Edwards Jr., Richard Yates, Virgil Suarez, Elizabeth Stuckey-French and Robert Olen Butler. Riggs’ short fiction has appeared in the “Tampa Review.” Riggs spent nearly a decade as a journalist, writing and designing for papers all around Florida. In addition to many features and columns, Riggs has done profiles of musicians Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings and filmmaker Mohammad Bakri. Riggs is working on a biography of Waylon Jennings.
