    Class of 1977 Frank Novak was recently rehired at Matanzas High School, where he retired a year ago, and is happy to be able to make a difference in the lives of students again. He has enjoyed traveling this past year to Cancun, Mexico, and several other cities throughout Florida, and plans to visit Brigantine Beach, N.J., over the summer. He is single and enjoying life.

    Four Couples Named Honorary Alumni

    The Alumni Association of Flagler College may grant permanent Honorary Alumni status in recognition of conspicuous, ongoing, enduring, and dedicated service on behalf of the College or the Alumni Association. This designation is a very high honor; prior to 2014, only five members of the College community had been conferred this status: Dr. and Mrs. William T. Abare, Jr., Dr. William Proctor, and Pierre and Shirley Thompson. At this year’s Spring Donor Dinner, Flagler welcomed four couples to Honorary Alumni status.

    Class of 1976 Doug Potkay is head varsity coach of the boys and girls tennis teams at The Pennington Prep School in Pennington, N.J. He helped guide the boys varsity tennis team to win their first New Jersey state B prep championship since 1994. Daughter, Meghan, is engaged and planning an April 2014 wedding in Sea Isle City, N.J.

Kenan Jr. Charitable Trust, Friday was a loyal friend to Flagler and a steward of some of the most significant gifts the college has ever received.
