President’s Letter: Academic excellence and exceptional value
Oct 1, 2015
At Flagler College we strive for excellence in everything we do, from academic rigor to continuous improvement of our educational programs and services. At the same time, we recognize that financing a college education represents a major investment, and key to our mission has always been providing exceptional value for our students.
That is why it was so gratifying when U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Colleges” guide ranked us 7th in the south for Best Value colleges. We also moved up to 6th in the publication’s Best Regional Colleges in the South.
As U.S. News states about its Best Value list, “The higher the quality of the program and the lower the cost, the better the deal.”
These rankings, as well as our inclusion in the 2016 edition of The Princeton Review’s “The Best 380 Colleges,” are further proof of the strength of our academic programs, the caliber of our students, the talent of our faculty and the dedication and commitment of our staff. It also reflects what students, alumni, parents and other supporters of the college already know — that the Flagler College student experience is an exceptional one.
This is an exciting time to be part of the Flagler family. You will see that throughout this issue of Flagler College Magazine. There are stories about students who have developed an app to help children deal with proton therapy for cancer treatment; an alumnus who is helping to shape the brand for an NFL football team; and students, faculty and alumni going global.
These are a few examples of how we continue to strive for excellence here at Flagler College while providing exceptional value to our students.
