Flagler College students and faculty are eagerly anticipating the construction of the latest addition to the Flagler campus: Pollard Hall, a new academic building at 31 Cordova St. The new academic building will replace the current Communication Building that has been owned and used by the college since 1989.

Construction is expected to begin in June or July of 2013, and the college expects the new academic building will be ready for the fall term of 2014.

Pollard Hall will be home to Flagler’s Communication Department and will serve other academic departments as well. The building will have eight classrooms, a television studio, four faculty offices and a commons area. WFCF, Flagler College Radio, will move to a structure the college purchased next door on Cuna Street.

Nelson Pollard provided the major gift for the construction of the new academic building, which will bear his family name. His brother, Lewis Pollard, is a member of the Flagler College Board of Trustees and has served as a board member since 1999.
