The Cummer Museum of Art in Jacksonville is featuring a new exhibit called “Our Shared Past” that showcases a strong contingent of Flagler artists.

The exhibit includes works created by Flagler Art Department faculty Leslie Robison, Patrick Moser and Sara Pedigo, as well as Flagler alumni Brianna Angelakis, ‘13; Rebecca Hoadley. ’13; and Denise Liberi, ‘11.

All the work in the exhibit is based on stills taken from 8mm home movies that the show’s organizer, Jefree Shaley, uncovered while helping his parents prepare for a pre-move purge.

Shaley selected images from the films that he felt would make ideal paintings, and then allowed painters and visual artists to create a work from one of the 175 stills.
