Students team up with First Coast News’ Ken Amaro to fight for consumer rights
As more Americans struggle with the current recession, Flagler College students have started working with a Jacksonville TV station’s consumer advocate to share money-saving solutions with viewers.
Calling themselves “Amaro’s Army,” they have partnered with Ken Amaro of First Coast News, the NBC and ABC affiliate in Jacksonville. It was an idea developed by the college’s Students in Free Enterprise team, and is being carried out by a class on reality television programming led by SIFE Adviser and Retired Professional Barry Sand.
The class looks for ways to save viewers money, and has been producing videos, blogs and other online resources for the First Coast News Web site. The students also play a large role in Amaro’s on-air segments.Tagged As
