Class of 1976 Doug Potkay is head varsity coach of the boys and girls tennis teams at The Pennington Prep School in Pennington, N.J. He helped guide the boys varsity tennis team to win their first New Jersey state B prep championship since 1994. Daughter, Meghan, is engaged and planning an April 2014 wedding in Sea Isle City, N.J.

Class of 1980
Selena Hernandez-Haines returned to Flagler College as a faculty member. She has joined the Public Administration Program as an assistant professor.

Andrew McRae recently started working with Newmine, LLC, a strategic consulting group that specializes in logistics and freight analytics. He enjoyed a summer visit from Brian Washburn, ‘82, and Donna (Zanni) Washburn, ‘82. They had a mini-reunion with Adele Prairie, ‘81.

Class of 1983
LisaAnn (Thompson) Lupino married Joe Lupino on Nov. 9, 2013. In attendance was sister, DonnaMarie (Thompson) Deleon, ‘85.

Class of 1985
Rick Hodgkins has accepted the position of general manager for Phoenix Products, a division of Ring Power Corporation. Rick has also been named a vice president at Ring Power.

Class of 1986
Arlene (Finkel) Cuerdo recently moved to Baltimore, Md., and is now the primary therapist for the new Johns Hopkins Medical Center Adult Schizophrenia Clinic. Her husband is working at McCormick, Inc., as a control systems engineer.

Class of 1992
Renee (Crespo) Reyes is celebrating her 17th wedding anniversary this year with her husband and four children in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. She enjoyed catching up over the summer in Virginia with Stacy (Walker) Hull, ‘92.

Class of 1995
Caryn (Pierce) Cuadra and her husband, Pablo Cuadra, have a 6-year-old daughter, Katie, and a 2-year-old son, Liam. Her husband just published a book of poems in Spanish entitled, “Poemas de un Tiempo Olvidado.”

Class of 1996
Christine Hanlon Noorlander completed her doctorate in mass communication-advertising at the University of Florida in May 2013. Her dissertation, “Recruiting G.I. Jane: An Analysis of the United States Military’s Methods of Advertising to Women,” focused on how the United States military recruits women via their websites. She is in her 15th year as a faculty member at the University of Central Florida.

Class of 1997
John Laurie completed a Ph.D. in economic development from the University of New Orleans in 2008. His dissertation studied how college students impact the locations they visit during spring break. In March 2013, he was interviewed by the New York Times, NPR and his work was featured in The Atlantic. He is currently working on spring break-related articles with faculty from Arizona State University, Tulane University and the University of New Orleans.

Class of 2000
Jonathan Cantor was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star for 2013, a Top 100 Trial Lawyer by The National Trial Lawyers for 2013 and a Top 40 Litigation Lawyers under 40 in the state of Connecticut for 2013 by the American Society of Legal Advocates. He thanks Judge Poland for getting him interested in law.

Class of 2001
Kim Diamon accepted a position as associate director of college alumni relations for Columbia University in New York City. She is excited about living in Manhattan and meeting other local alumni.

Elliott LaVercombe and wife, Lindsay, welcomed twin girls, Amelia and Lorelai, into the world on May 25, 2013. Amelia Grace and Lorelai Ella joined their big sister, Taylor. They reside in St. Augustine, Fla. Elliott works for Menu Designs, one of the nation’s largest manufacturers of hospitality products.

Noah Marguiles and Rebecca (Barrett) Marguiles, ‘02, had a baby girl, Isla Rose, on Sept. 13, 2013. She is their first child and a future Flagler alumna.

Duncan Parker was recently asked to be a speaker at The International Traders Expo in New York in February 2014. He is a managing member of Queen Anne’s Revenge, LLC/LP.

Chris Wilson recently completed a master of library and information science degree, and will be graduating with honors from San Jose State University in San Jose, Calif. He is relocating to Boise, Idaho, in January 2014.

Class of 2002
Vincent D’Agostino graduated from Stetson College of Law in the summer of 2013. He recently was accepted into the prestigious White House Internship program. He interned for 15 weeks for the Office of National AIDS Policy (ONAP) in Washington, D.C.

Dianna (Williamson) Singleton married John Singleton on April 27, 2013, in a ceremony at Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine, Fla. Several Flagler alumni were in attendance. The couple honeymooned in Palm Island Grenadines. Dianna works for the Hertz Corporation as the city operations manager at the Nashville Airport. John also works for the Hertz Corporation as the general manager of Alabama and Tennessee. The couple resides in Nashville, Tenn.

Scott Sturgill successfully won the Seminole Soil & Water Conservation District campaign in 2012. He has since announced his intention to seek the Florida House of Representatives District 30 seat in 2014.

Class of 2003
Robin Arnold married Misha Leicht in April 2011. Robin is a Realtor and closed over $13 million in real estate sales in 2013. He currently resides in St. Augustine, Fla., where Misha recently opened a hair salon, Rock Paper Scissor Salon and Color Bar.

Rachel Huber is engaged to Nick Buscemi.

Diana (Mahnke) Jones was accepted into an artist residency in Italy, which will begin in August 2014.

Johnpaul McLean recently moved to Louisville, Ky., and is working as the marketing and communication director at Walden School, a small independent private school that he attended during his middle school years. He is engaged to Ashleigh Stephan, a 2010 graduate of NYU. They have plans to marry in September 2014. They met in New York City while working as casting producers for VPEtalent.

Class of 2004
Amanda (Fush) Gentile married Michael Gentile on June 23, 2013. They welcomed a baby girl, Aniston Hayes, on Nov. 13, 2013. Amanda is currently a stay-at-home mom. They reside in Tampa, Fla.

Joe Gillespie and wife, Stacy (Hesson) Gillespie, ‘04, welcomed their third child, Noah, on Sept. 14, 2013. In addition, Joe recently accepted a position within the NBC Sports family as Golf Channel’s director and producer for European Tour coverage. He spent the previous nine years working for PGA TOUR Entertainment.

Michelle Olson-Rogers and Andy Rogers, ‘07, recently moved from New York City to South Florida. Several Flagler College alumni and staff attended their going-away party. In attendance, were Lou Dubois, ‘05; Brittany Lutz, ‘06; Jessica Minch, ‘06; Amy (Waers) Thompson, ‘06; Stevie Schenk, ‘12, Phil Sunkel, ‘13; and Donna DeLorenzo, staff.

Scott Smith and Erin Rohan ‘05, were married in their kayaks at Three Sisters Spring in Crystal River, Fla. on December 22, 2013. Scott, a former adjunct professor, is a professional photographer and Erin is a construction law attorney with an office in St. Augustine. There were Alumni present at the wedding, as well as several manatees.
