Writers in Residence Presents Stephen Kampa

Flagler College’s Writers in Residence series is delighted to host Stephen Kampa, a poet and a professor of English and Creative Writing at Flagler College.

Kampa has published two collections of poetry.

  • His first collection, Cracks in the Invisible (Ohio University Press 2011), was awarded the 2010 Hollis Summers Poetry Prize and the 2011 Gold Medal in Poetry from the Florida Book Awards.
  • The Waywiser Press published Kampa’s second collection, Bachelor Pad, in 2014.

In March of 2018, The Waywiser Press will publish Kampa’s third collection of poetry, Articulate as Rain. His poems have been awarded the Theodore Roethke Prize and first place in the River Styx International Poetry Contest. His poetry has also received four Pushcart nominations.

Kampa holds a BA in English Literature from Carleton College and an MFA in Poetry from Johns Hopkins University.
