New Student Registration
New students will be contacted by their assigned advisor to discuss their fall semester 2018-2019 schedule. However, use the information below to help you navigate the registration process.
Registration Guide and Check List
Easy Guide to Registration
- Review the General Education requirements. Refer to the General Education Program link.
- Review the course requirements for your intended major listed in the Flagler College Catalog. The Flagler College Catalog is available online at www.flagler.edu.
- Freshmen and Transfer Students who have completed Advanced Placement (AP) testing, International Baccalaureate (IB) testing, AICE examinations, Caribbean Advanced Proficiency examinations (CAPE), and/or College Level Examination Program (CLEP – General Examinations only) must have the score reports sent to the Flagler College Office of Admissions for evaluation. No credit will be awarded for CLEP Subject Examinations.
- Freshmen and Transfer Students who have completed college coursework and received a grade of "C" (2.0) or better should not select courses that would duplicate courses already taken. You must have a final official transcript sent from the previous college(s) attended. Credit for Dual Enrollment courses cannot be awarded from a high school transcript.
- Freshmen and Transfer Students should contact their advisor in order to confirm courses accepted by Flagler College. This would prevent duplication of courses.
- Freshmen course selections must include a college writing course (ENG 142, 152WI, or 172WI) and a first year seminar (FYS 142WI or 152WI). It is also recommended that you include one course in Mathematics.
For the remainder of your schedule, you should choose courses from the General Education Program. For example, you may choose a course from Foundations of Knowledge, Creative Expression, and/or Ways of Knowing. Your final course can be COM 101, an additional General Education course or one entry level course in your major. COM 101 can be taken during the fall or spring.
Review with your advisor four – six alternate course selections. Do not duplicate your primary course selections with your alternate course selections. In the event a primary course section is full, you will need an appropriate alternate course. - During the summer major and/or minor changes will be made in the Office of Admissions. Students will send an e-mail to admissions@flagler.edu and copy their advisor with the change.
