Art History
By studying Art History, you will come to appreciate the diverse and varied histories of our global visual culture, discovering how art has shaped the human experience.
We emphasize research and practice, teaching you the skills necessary to evaluate and analyze works of art, while preparing you for a range of careers in the arts, including museum and gallery positions, work as educators, and more.
What You'll Study
You will gain a foundation in art history, visual culture and a better understanding of art within a broader social context. We also stress stepping out of the classroom and experience our local art history.
Practical Experience
Our coursework stresses the importance of practice, with a course in Gallery Management and an available minor in Arts Administration. You can also take part in the spring break study away to New York and other study abroad opportunities.

You have the opportunity to serve as a Gallery Assistant at the Crisp-Ellert Art Museum, as well as enroll in museum and archivist internships.
