Secondary Education (English)
With the secondary English program, you can earn two majors at once. You'll earn both an English degree and Secondary English education certification ( grades 6-12). Once you complete your coursework and pass your FTCE exams, you'll be eligible to obtain a Florida Secondary English certification and an endorsement in ESOL.
What You'll Study
We'll prepare you to enter a middle or high school English classroom with professional education and pedagogy courses. You'll also earn an English degree. Explore British and American literature, literary criticism, short stories and dramas, and everything from Shakespeare to modern American classics.
Practical Experience
You'll take part in practicum courses with schools in the public school system of St. Johns County and other approved districts.
