Exceptional Student Education

What You'll Study

The content of Exceptional Student Education courses at Flagler College follows the standards and ethics established and practiced by the Council for Exceptional Children. You'll study professional education, elementary pedagogy, and exceptional student education.

Practical Experience

You'll also take part in practicum courses with schools in the public school system of St. Johns County and other approved districts.

What's Next?

Once you complete your coursework and pass your FTCE exams, you'll be eligible to obtain a Florida Exceptional Student Education certification to teach grades K-12, Elementary Education (K-6), and endorsements in ESOL & Reading.
