Email Sync Mobile Devices (12/14/11)
Known Issue, RESOLVED
After our email server upgrade on 12/13/11, some mobile devices stopped being able to sync Flagler College email accounts.
Solution
Update your email account settings using the instructions below.
Device-specific instructions:
iPhone or iPad
- On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings >Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
- Touch your Flagler email account from the accounts list.
- Touch the "Account ... username@flagler.edu" area.
- Fill in the Domain field with the word "flagler" without quotes.

- Press the Done button in the upper-right.
- Go to the Mail application and ensure that you can now send and receive mail.
- If you cannot send or receive mail, ensure that you have entered your password correctly.
- If you still cannot send mail after ensuring that you are entering your password correctly, call us at 904-819-6293.
Android
- On your Android phone, go to Settings > Accounts & sync.
- Touch your Exchange ActiveSync account form the accounts list.
- At the bottom of the screen, touch "Remove account."
- You will be automatically returned to the Accounts & sync screen.
- At the bottom of the screen, touch "Add account."
- Choose "Exchange ActiveSync" as the account type.
- Enter your @flagler.edu email address and password.
- OPTIONAL: If you are prompted to enter email settings, the Server address is exchange.flagler.edu, the Domain is flagler, and SSL is required.

- Press "Next."
- Press "Finish Setup."
- Go to the Mail application and ensure that you can now send and receive mail.
- If you cannot send or receive mail, ensure that you have entered your password correctly.
- If you still cannot send mail after ensuring that you are entering your password correctly, call us at 904-819-6293.
BlackBerry
- Open "Email Settings" on your BlackBerry smartphone.
- Click "Set up another email account."
- Choose "Other" from the list of options.
- Enter the Email Address and Email Password, then click Continue.
- If the BlackBerry Internet Service indicates that there was a problem, select "I will provide the settings".
- Select Outlook Web Access (Exchange).
- Enter the Outlook Web Access URL: https://fc-cas01.flagler.edu/exchange
- Enter the username: flagler\yourusername
- Enter your password.
- Enter whatever you wish to identify your email account for "Mailbox name."
- Go to the Mail application and ensure that you can now send and receive mail.
- If you cannot send or receive mail, ensure that you have entered your password correctly.
- If you still cannot send mail after ensuring that you are entering your password correctly, call us at 904-819-6293.
Other
- Go to the Accounts area of your device.
- Edit your Flagler email account. If you cannot edit your account, remove it and add a new account instead.
- Ensure that the Domain field is filled out with the word "flagler" without quotes.
- Ensure that the Server field is filled out with "fc-cas01.flagler.edu" without quotes.
- Go to your email application and ensure that you can now send and receive mail.
- If you cannot send or receive mail, ensure that you have entered your password correctly.
- If you still cannot send mail after ensuring that you are entering your password correctly, call us at 904-819-6293.
