Dr. Beverly Carmichael '72
Vice President for Institutional Advancement
Dr. Beverly Copeland Carmichael, graduate of the first graduating class of 1972, returned to the College August 2013 bringing with her extensive experience in higher education and fundraising. She had served as Assistant Chancellor for University Advancement at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay since 2010, and prior to that was partner and fundraising counsel for The Winston Group, a successful fundraising consultant firm in Green Bay. She was the first Director of Development for Flagler College from 1986 – 1989 and for eight years prior worked as Associate Executive Director of the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education in Washington, D.C. She holds a doctorate from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Executive Assistant to the Vice President
Candace joined the staff of Flagler College in 1994, returning with her late husband to his home town of St. Augustine where they raised their family. She worked in the Office of Academic Affairs and in the President’s Office for nearly fifteen years prior to joining Institutional Advancement in 2008.
Jeffrey Davitt ‘07
Jeff graduated with a sport management and business administration degree, coordinated part of the volunteer effort for Super Bowl XXXIX in Jacksonville (2005), and then worked in the community relations office of the Miami Dolphins. He returned to Flagler College in 2008 to coordinate the annual giving initiative and in 2012 he was promoted to a Development Officer. Jeff earned a MBA degree from the University of North Florida in 2012 and currently serves on the Board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, First Coast Chapter.
Katie Jurlando ‘14
A 2014 graduate of Flagler College, Katie earned her degree in Business Administration with minors in Advertising and Marketing. Katie initially worked with the Office of Institutional Advancement through Flagler’s work grant program and internship program during her three year enrollment at the College. Katie joined our department as a Development Officer following her graduation in May of 2014. During her time as a Flagler student, she was Supervisor of the Flagler College Phone-a-thon for two years and President of the Association of Fundraising Professionals for one year where she learned the importance of giving back. She views this opportunity as a chance to give back to the school that provided her with so much.

Kelly joined the Flagler College team in April of 2014. A University of Miami graduate, Kelly has a BS degree in Communication and brings with her four years of writing, marketing and public relations experience. She relocated from her hometown of Chicago to St. Augustine in 2013, and currently assists with grant writing and marketing initiatives in the Office of Institutional Advancement. As a four-year Daniel Murphy scholar in high school and a four-year Maryville Academy scholar in college, Kelly finds Flagler an exceptional place to “pay it forward” for her educational opportunities.

Andrea Rix joined the Institutional Advancement staff in September, 2012. Andrea has a BA degree in Speech and Communication Studies from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. She worked for Penn Lakes Girl Scout Council while in college where she planned their annual golf tournament. Andrea was raised in Pennsylvania and moved to the Jacksonville area in 2001 where she was with SMG as an Event Coordinator. From 2002-2009, Andrea worked for River Garden Hebrew Home/Wolfson Health and Aging Center where she became the Assistant Director of Development. Andrea moved to the St. Augustine area in 2008 and now coordinates the Annual Giving for Flagler College, bringing with her 10+ years of non-profit fundraising and event planning experience.

Alecia graduated with a degree in Sport Management. As a Flagler student, she was a member of the golf team, Student Government Association (SGA), the Sport Management Association, and participated in intramural Ultimate Frisbee. After college she continued coaching gymnastics at her home gym, North Florida Gymnastics and worked game days for the Jacksonville Jaguars. She also worked for Communities In Schools of St. Johns County for three years. Alecia currently manages the phonathon program and coordinates Annual Giving efforts for Flagler College.

Margo Brown ‘06
Director of Alumni Relations
During Margo’s time as a Flagler student, she was captain of the women’s golf team for two years and MVP for three years as well as outstanding English student. Originally hired as part of the Annual Giving staff in 2006, Margo joined the Alumni Relations effort in 2008 as Assistant Director and in 2010 assumed the Director role. Margo is currently working towards a master’s degree in English from Middlebury College.

Kerri graduated from Flagler with a degree in business administration and in communication. After graduation, she worked for six years at The St. Augustine Record as an Advertising Account Executive. In January of 2012, she returned to her alma mater to assume the role of Research and Stewardship Manager in the Office of Institutional Advancement.

Sabrina Baksh Kelbert ‘09
Director of Advancement Services
In 2009, Sabrina graduated from Flagler College with a degree in accounting and then joined the College as an accountant with the Office of Business Services. She transitioned to the Office of Institutional Advancement in 2011. Prior to joining the College, she worked as an analyst with federal law enforcement for nine years. She is currently completing her master’s degree in business administration from American Public University.
Jay Kelly ‘12
A 2012 graduate of Flagler College, Jay earned degrees in English and philosophy. He initially worked with the Office of Institutional Advancement through Flagler's work study grant during his three-year enrollment at the College and joined our department in 2013.

Faye joined the Institutional Advancement team in May 2014. As 2010 graduate of SUNY College at Buffalo, she earned a degree in Public Communication. Faye brings with her four years of development experience, including extensive work with the American Red Cross.
