Mark came to Flagler College in 2010 bringing with him extensive higher education fundraising experience, including service to Stetson University and to its College of Law, Hollins University, Rhodes College, Sweet Briar College, the University of Massachusetts, and the University of Maine. Also, he operated a successful consulting business, Whittaker & Associates, LLC. He attended New College of Florida and is a graduate of the University of Maine in Orono. He completed the Harvard University Institute for Educational Management Program, is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). Mark’s primary responsibility is to provide executive leadership for all fundraising and alumni relations activities in advancing the fundamental mission of the College.

Candace joined the staff of Flagler College in 1994, returning with her late husband to his home town of St. Augustine where they raised their family. She worked in the Office of Academic Affairs and in the President’s Office for nearly fifteen years prior to joining Institutional Advancement in 2008.

Leslee came to Flagler College in 2002 as adjunct faculty in history and in 2005 became Associate Director of Development.  In 2007 she assumed the position of Director of Corporate, Foundation & Government Relations.  In the fall of 2012 she became a full-time faculty member and continues with the IA staff in a part-time role as an advisor for historic preservation.  She is completing her doctorate in historic preservation from the University of Florida, holds a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from Virginia Tech and a bachelor’s degree in pre-law and history from Ball State University.  She worked in government and non-profit sectors for 25 years before coming to Flagler College.

Nicole has been with Flagler College since 1997, first as Director of Housing and since 2000 with Advancement. She coordinates Planned Giving as well as securing major gifts. Nicole holds a master’s degree in teaching from Jacksonville University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Boston College.

Jeff graduated with a sport management and business administration degree, coordinated part of the volunteer effort for Super Bowl XXXIX in Jacksonville (2005), and then worked in the community relations office of the Miami Dolphins. He returned to Flagler College in 2008 to coordinate the annual giving initiative and in 2012 he was promoted to a Development Officer.  Jeff earned a MBA degree from the University of North Florida in 2012 and currently serves on the Board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, First Coast Chapter.

Andrea Rix joined the Institutional Advancement staff in September, 2012.  Andrea has a BA degree in Speech and Communication Studies from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.  She worked for Penn Lakes Girl Scout Council while in college where she planned their annual golf tournament.  Andrea was raised in Pennsylvania and moved to the Jacksonville area in 2001 where she was with SMG as an Event Coordinator.  From 2002-2009, Andrea worked for River Garden Hebrew Home/Wolfson Health and Aging Center  where she became the Assistant Director of Development.  Andrea moved to the St. Augustine area in 2008 and now coordinates the Annual Giving for Flagler College, bringing with her 10+ years of non-profit fundraising and event planning experience.

Alecia graduated with a degree in Sport Management. As a Flagler student, she was a member of the golf team, Student Government Association (SGA), the Sport Management Association, and participated in intramural Ultimate Frisbee. After college she continued coaching gymnastics at her home gym, North Florida Gymnastics and worked game days for the Jacksonville Jaguars. She also worked for Communities In Schools of St. Johns County for three years. Alecia currently manages the phonathon program and coordinates Annual Giving efforts for Flagler College.

During Margo’s time as a Flagler student, she was captain of the women’s golf team for two years and MVP for three years as well as outstanding English student. Originally hired as part of the Annual Giving staff in 2006, Margo joined the Alumni Relations effort in 2008 as Assistant Director and in 2010 assumed the Director role.  Margo is currently working towards a master’s degree in English from Middlebury College.

Krista graduated from Flagler College with a degree in communication and played on the volleyball team, where she held the Flagler block assist record until 2010.  She completed her MBA from the University of North Alabama in 2011.

In 2009, Sabrina graduated from Flagler College with a degree in accounting and then joined the College as an accountant with the Office of Business Services.  She transitioned to the Office of Institutional Advancement in 2011.  Prior to joining the College, she worked as an analyst with federal law enforcement for nine years.  She is currently completing her master’s degree in business administration from American Public University.

After graduation, she worked for six years at The St. Augustine Record as an Advertising Account Executive.  In January of 2012, she returned to her alma mater to assume the role of Research and Stewardship Manager in the Office of Institutional Advancement.

Sarah joined the Advancement staff in 2012 after spending three years working in the development departments of Communities in Schools of Jacksonville and later the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida based in Jacksonville, FL. She graduated from Florida State University in 2008 with a degree in English and a minor in Art History.
