Health & Safety
Medical Care - Health Services
The College maintains a health center, centrally located next to the College post office, and it is available to full-time boarding and non-boarding students. The health center is staffed by two registered nurses from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and is under the supervision of the College Physician, who sees students on a first-come first-served basis from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m., Monday through Friday. There is a Nurse Practitioner who provides women’s health by appointment.
College Counseling Services
The College offers confidential counseling services to help students deal with personal concerns that interfere with learning and academic progress. The Counseling Center is located at 8 Valencia St., between Wiley Hall and Lewis House. Students may schedule an appointment by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling the Counseling Center at (904) 819-6305.
Behavioral Intervention Team
The Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) exists as a proactive, multi-disciplinary program in support of the safety, health, and well-being of all students, faculty, and staff. Its goal is to provide a structured positive method for addressing student behaviors that may adversely impact the college community, the mission of the College, and may involve mental health and/or safety issues. The BIT consists of a group of qualified professionals who are likely to become involved with and/or receive information pertaining to a student of concern.
Safety & Security
The Office of Safety and Security is here to ensure your safety and to offer assistance in the case of any emergency. We work in tandem with the St. Augustine Police Department to maintain the security of Flagler College’s students, faculty and staff, as well as visitors to the campus. We are also responsible for enforcing legal statutes and college regulations and restrictions on campus and for protecting college property and equipment.
